🇨🇦 dear canada, read this before you order
you will likely be charged duties on delivery
boop ships from the United States. when your order crosses the border, the Canada Border Services Agency assesses duties and import fees, and your courier will collect that money from you before they hand over your parcel.
that charge is not on your boop receipt. it is not collected at checkout. it arrives later, separately, and it is real.
if that changes your mind about ordering, we would genuinely rather you knew now.
what we're doing about it
we're a small, three-person, first-year brand and this is the least glamorous problem we own. here's where it actually stands:
- we're working through the technical setup with Shopify and our fulfilment partner so duties can be calculated and paid up front.
- we are not going to tell you it's nearly fixed. when it is fixed, you'll be the first to know if you subscribe to our newsletter.
